Tokyo

Meaninglessness does not come from being weary of pain. Meaninglessness comes from being weary of pleasure.

G. K. Chesterton

A Restless Megacity

Tokyo, Japan’s busy capital, mixes the ultramodern and the traditional, from neon-lit skyscrapers to historic temples. With a population of about 9 million and a GDP of US$869 billion, it is home to a plethora of giant corporations and multinational industries. Due to a thriving economy, this metropolitan city has one of the most diverse and fascinating nightlife scenes on the planet!

In such a city bustling with life, however, an estimated 5.93 million people suffer from alcohol-related problems. Up to 40% of men can’t sleep well because of work stress. Suicide is the main cause of death for all demographics from age 15 to 39.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior that Tokyo is in the utmost need of right now.

YOU CAN HELP!

Any church plant costs money. With Tokyo being one of the most expensive cities in the world, with average costs of living averaging between ¥140,000 and ¥196,000 per person per month, startup costs are always a challenge. As one of our ministry leaders always says:

GOSPEL IS FREE OF COST, BUT MINISTRY IS NOT!
